Generative Noise Store

Licence

Every plugin has a generous licence that doesn't limit its use in production. There are no licence keys or online activations, and the files are an instant download. We hope you work in good faith: if you use a plugin commercially, pay to support its development, and don't pass it on.

In short

  • Install a plugin on as many machines as you like, and use it for your own productions and for paid work.
  • It can travel inside a Disguise project to the machines and people working on that production, for that production.
  • For anything else, each person or company needs their own copy from us.
  • For a paid plugin, the licence is for whoever paid for it and the people working for them.
  • Don't change it, take it apart, or share it outside a project.
  • Try a plugin before you rely on it in a show, and keep backups of your projects.

This is a summary, not the licence: the licence below is what applies. Every plugin comes with it, as LICENSE.txt in its folder and under Help > About.

Generative Noise Plugin Licence

Version 1.0, October 2026

Copyright (c) 2026 Generative Noise Ltd. All rights reserved.

This licence covers the Generative Noise software it comes with: a plugin for Disguise Designer, or the code a plugin is built from, with its design, its documentation and its source code (the "Plugin"). "We" and "us" are Generative Noise Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 16192322. "You" are the person or company using the Plugin. By installing or using the Plugin you agree to this licence. If you do not agree to it, do not install or use the Plugin.

1. What you may do

You may install the Plugin and use it, as we supplied it, on any number of machines, for your own productions and for productions you are working on, paid work included.

If we charge for the Plugin, this permission is given to the person or company that paid for it, covers the people working for them, and begins once it has been paid for.

A copy of the Plugin may travel inside a Disguise Designer project to the machines and the people working on that production, and may be used by them for that production. Anyone who receives the Plugin that way may not use it for anything else, or take it out of the project to pass on: for that they need a copy of their own from us.

You may keep copies of the Plugin as backups.

2. What you may not do

Unless we have agreed to it in writing, or the law gives you a right that a licence cannot take away, you may not:

  • (a) change, adapt or translate the Plugin, or make anything based on it;
  • (b) give, publish, share, sell, rent, lend or sub-license the Plugin or any part of it to anyone, other than inside a project as section 1 allows;
  • (c) decompile or reverse engineer the Plugin, or copy or reuse its source code or its design in anything else;
  • (d) remove or change any copyright notice, licence or credit in the Plugin;
  • (e) use the Generative Noise name or logos in a way that suggests we endorse you, your work or your products.

3. Ownership

The Plugin is licensed, not sold. We own it and keep every right in it that this licence does not give you. Having the Plugin's source code, however you came by it, gives you no right to use that code beyond what this licence allows.

4. Open-source components

The Plugin includes open-source libraries, listed with their licences under "Open-source libraries" in the Plugin's Help. Each stays under its own licence, and nothing here limits what that licence lets you do with the library itself.

5. Disguise

The Plugin is made by us, independently of Disguise. It is not a Disguise product, and Disguise does not endorse or support it. "Disguise" and "Designer" are trade marks of their owner. You need your own licence from Disguise to run Designer.

6. No warranty

The Plugin is supplied as it is. As far as the law allows, we give no warranty and make no promise about it: not that it is free of faults, not that it will work with any version of Designer, and not that it is fit for any particular use. A plugin can change a project. You are responsible for trying the Plugin before you rely on it in a show, and for keeping backups of your projects.

7. Our liability

Nothing in this licence limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not let us limit. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.

Apart from that, we are not liable for loss of profit, income, business, contracts, goodwill or data, for a show that is cancelled, delayed or interrupted, or for any indirect or consequential loss, however it comes about. Our whole liability to you in connection with the Plugin is limited to what you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim, or 100 pounds sterling if that is more.

8. Ending

This licence lasts until it ends. It ends at once, without notice, if you break it. When it ends you must stop using the Plugin and delete every copy you have. Sections 2, 3, 6, 7 and 9 carry on after it ends.

9. General

A later version of the Plugin may come with a later version of this licence, which then covers that version of the Plugin.

If a court finds part of this licence cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.

This licence is governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales alone decide any dispute about it.
